The Naruto franchise has been in the hearts of many fans for over two decades, and its 20th anniversary in 2022 was no exception. The creator of the series, Masashi Kishimoto, celebrated the occasion by releasing exceptional illustrations featuring various characters from the series on Naruto’s official website. In addition, Studio Pierrot, the producer behind the Naruto anime, reanimated dozens of iconic scenes from the original anime and its sequel series, Naruto: Shippuden, in a 10-minute video that garnered over 15 million views since its release in October 2022.
The Naruto franchise continues to live on in both print and digital media, with the release of Sasuke’s Story – The Uchiha and the Heavenly Stardust in English in November 2022, which had previously been released exclusively in Japanese in August 2019. The spinoff manga follows the story of Sasuke and Sakura’s relationship before the events of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, the sequel anime that focuses on Naruto and Hinata Hyuga’s son, Boruto, and his adventures with other children of the original characters.
Boruto features characters such as Sasuke and Sakura’s daughter, Sarada, Shikamaru and Temari’s son, Shikadai, Ino and Sai’s son, Inojin, as well as other children like Metal Lee and Chōchō Akimichi. The anime allows Naruto to finally achieve his lifelong dream of becoming the Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village, but not without facing several formidable opponents along the way. Unlike Naruto’s ability to control the Nine-Tailed Fox, Boruto possesses mysterious powers from his connections with Momoshiki and Kinshiki Ōtsutsuki.
