Naruto team recreated iconic scenes from the anime for its 20th anniversary

The Naruto anime has been an incredibly popular and influential series since its debut in 2002. The series is based on the manga of the same name by Masashi Kishimoto, which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1999 to 2014. The anime follows the journey of a young ninja named Naruto Uzumaki, who dreams of becoming the strongest ninja in his village, the Hidden Leaf, and earning the title of Hokage. However, his early years are filled with failure and rejection, as he struggles to perform even the most basic jutsu and is shunned by his fellow villagers for having a dangerous beast sealed inside his body.

Despite these setbacks, Naruto perseveres and eventually becomes a ninja, joining forces with his teammates Sakura Haruno and Sasuke Uchiha to complete missions under the leadership of their teacher, Kakashi Hatake. Along the way, they encounter a wide range of allies and enemies, each with their own unique abilities and motivations.

The original Naruto anime ran for 220 episodes from 2002 to 2007, while its sequel, Naruto Shippuden, adapted the second part of the manga and ran for 500 episodes from 2007 to 2017. The anime was directed by Hayato Date, with Junko Takeuchi providing the voice of Naruto Uzumaki, Chie Nakamura playing Sakura Haruno, Noriaki Sugiyama playing Sasuke Uchiha, and Kazuhiko Inuoe playing Kakashi Hatake.

In celebration of the anime’s 20th anniversary, Studio Pierrot released a video on their official YouTube channel that revisits classic scenes from the series. The video features reanimated battle sequences and emotional character moments, with a particular focus on Naruto and Sasuke’s relationship. However, it also includes other major characters such as Kakashi, Sakura, Gaara, and Orochimaru.

The legacy of Naruto lives on in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, a manga and anime series that follows the adventures of Naruto’s son, Boruto. The series is written by Ukyo Kodachi with illustrations by Mikio Ikemoto, and the anime adaptation is ongoing, produced by Studio Pierrot.
