Demon Slayer’s supporting characters are getting more screen time

VIZ Media has recently announced that they will be localizing a trilogy of light novels that will expand the world of Demon Slayer. This is great news for fans who are still recovering from the manga ending in 2020, as it will give them the opportunity to dive back into the world of Demon Slayer and explore new stories featuring characters that did not receive much attention in the original manga.

Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba, which is one of the best-selling manga series in history with more than 150 million copies sold, has also gained immense popularity with its anime adaptation that was launched in 2019. The sequel film, The Mugen Train, broke records and became the highest-grossing Japanese film of all time. With such a massive fan base and a franchise worth almost 9 billion dollars annually, it was only a matter of time before Demon Slayer expanded into the world of light novels.

The three light novels are titled The Flower of Happiness, One-Winged Butterfly, and Signs from the Wind, and they are written by Aya Yajima. The creator of Demon Slayer, Koyoharu Gotouge, has also provided cover art and illustrations for the novels. Light novels are a popular form of Japanese literature that primarily target young adults, high school, and middle school students. The novels often explore complex themes and contain detailed world-building, making them a perfect medium for expanding the rich and complex world of Demon Slayer.
