Upcoming Demon Slayer season 3: Release date and latest updates

With the highly anticipated release of Demon Slayer season 3 just around the corner, fans of the anime series are eagerly waiting to dive into the Swordsmith Village arc. This season will introduce fresh foes and much-needed allies in the ongoing fight against the demons. The Entertainment District arc ended last year, leaving fans eager for more. The new season promises to be just as action-packed, if not more so.

If you’re not caught up yet, don’t worry. There’s plenty of time to binge-watch the first two seasons of Demon Slayer, which are available to stream on Crunchyroll. Additionally, if you need help watching the series in order or are looking for other anime recommendations, be sure to check out our guide. For a more detailed breakdown of the season 3 release schedule, we’ve got you covered as well.

The first trailer for the new season, released in 2022, mostly recaps what’s happened so far in the series. However, there are a few glimpses of new footage, including the Love and Mist Hashira seen separately in the trailer, and a new sword being crafted at the Swordsmith Village. The second trailer, which features new footage and gives viewers a glimpse at new allies and enemies, is far more substantial. The season’s opening theme song, performed by Man With a Mission and Milet, has also been released.

The Swordsmith Village arc is expected to cover chapters 100-127 of the manga, much like how the Entertainment District arc covered chapters 70-99. This suggests that the new season will likely be around 12 episodes long. Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Nezuko will all return for season 3, along with the Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito and the Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanoji. More members of the Hashiras and the Twelve Kibuki are expected to appear in future seasons, with one of the Upper Moons, Doma, set to make an appearance in this upcoming season.

Demon Slayer season 3 will be directed by Haruo Satozaki, with Akira Matsushima on character design duties. The release date for season 3 is April 9th, and it’s a one-hour special. While there may be a slight delay between Japan and the West, fans in the US and UK should be able to watch the new season on Crunchyroll between 10:45-11:30 a.m. Pacific/1:45-2:30pm Eastern and 6:45-7:30pm, respectively. Netflix users can also stream the first season in some territories, but new episodes are exclusive to Crunchyroll.
