7-minute English gameplay trailer for One Piece Odyssey showcases combat, exploration, and mechanics

One Piece Odyssey is an adventure RPG that allows players to experience a brand new adventure with the Straw Hat Pirates, the main characters of the popular anime and manga series, One Piece. Developed by Ganbarion and published by Bandai Namco, the game features a turn-based combat system that lets players swap between controllable characters during their explorations of towns, each with their unique skills and abilities.

The game takes place in the iconic region of Alabasta from the pre-timeskip era, faithfully depicting the primary cast of the One Piece series. In addition to the main quest, players can embark on side stories that provide additional challenges and rewards.

One of the unique elements of One Piece Odyssey is the Scramble Area Battles, where characters are randomly assigned to different areas of the map and must play to their strengths to survive. The game also features Dramatic Scenes, brief instances of random dialogue that impact party members and ultimately grant increased experience at the end of a battle.

The game boasts new character and monster designs by Eiichiro Oda, the author of One Piece, and features music by Motoi Sakuraba, known for his work on the Dark Souls and Tales series. Additionally, Oda designed two original characters for the game, Adio and Lim, as well as several new animals, such as the Dry Penguin and Leviathan.

One Piece Odyssey is set to launch on January 13, 2023, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam.
