Bleach creator, Tite Kubo, commented on Ichigo’s updated voice in the new anime adaptation of the Thousand-Year Blood War arc

Bleach fans were overjoyed when the new episodes of the Thousand Year Blood War Arc were released after a ten-year wait. Many of the voice actors from the original series returned, including Johnny Yong Bosch as the English voice of Ichigo and Masakazu Morita as the Japanese voice of Ichigo. Both Morita and Bleach creator Tite Kubo recently shared their thoughts on the series’ return as well as Morita stepping back into the role of Ichigo Kurosaki.

In a recent interview, Morita spoke about the challenges and rewards of returning to the role of Ichigo. He expressed gratitude towards the mobile game Bleach: Brave Souls, which allowed him to keep his passion for the character alive and stay connected with fans from all over the world. Morita also mentioned the difference between recording lines for games versus anime, noting that the latter allows for more authentic conversations between characters.

Kubo, on the other hand, shared his thoughts on the updated voice of Ichigo. He praised Morita for his work on the character, noting that he has always been impressed with the actor’s ability to bring Ichigo’s emotional depth to life. Kubo also revealed that he was closely involved in the casting process for the original anime and was thrilled to see Morita chosen for the role. Overall, both Morita and Kubo are thrilled to see Bleach back on the screen and to be a part of the series’ ongoing legacy.
