“Haikyu!!” seasons 1-2 will no longer be available on Netflix worldwide starting from November 2021

After being available on Netflix for two years, it has been announced that seasons 1 and 2 of the popular Japanese anime series Haikyu!! will be removed from the streaming service in multiple regions in November 2021. This is a significant loss for Netflix’s library of content. Haikyu!! is based on a shonen manga of the same name by Haruichi Furudate and has become one of the most popular shonen series since its debut in 2012. The manga has a total of 36 volumes and new chapters are released almost every week. The anime adaptation was released only two years after the manga and quickly became one of the most popular sports anime in Japan.

The story follows Hinata Shouyou, a young boy who dreams of becoming a volleyball player despite his small stature. After his middle school team is defeated in a competition, Hinata vows to defeat the opposing team’s star setter, Kageyama Tobio. However, his plans are thwarted when he and Tobio end up joining the same high school volleyball club at Karasuno High School. The two must put aside their differences and work together to lead their team to victory.

While Haikyu!! will no longer be available on Netflix, there are other options for streaming the series.
