Review of My Hero Academia Season Six English Dub

“Overview:

In this season of My Hero Academia, we see a clash between the pros and students of UA and the Paranormal Liberation Front. The question on everyone’s mind is whether Deku will finally be able to take down Shigaraki.

Our Take:

We should savor this series while we can because it’s uncertain how many more seasons are left. With the remaining content in the manga, there may be only a season and a half left. Perhaps a little more if some things are stretched or if there is some filler. What is certain is that we are in the endgame and it’s thrilling. This is probably because it’s rare to see a Shonen series end while it’s still airing.

All the voice talent has returned and Justin Briner has done an exceptional job this season. Deku has always been emotional but he’s also usually optimistic. However, that all changes in the second half of this season. We get to see one of my favorite arcs, the “Dark Deku” arc, mainly because I love Deku’s mask and it’s prominently featured during this arc. Justin brings out a whole new side of Deku during that arc and it’s truly impressive.

Studio Bones knows exactly how to animate this series. Sometimes they take shortcuts but when it matters, they always go all out. This becomes more evident as we get deeper into the series. I’m excited to see what they do for the seventh season.

At this point, you either love or hate My Hero Academia and you know what you’re getting with it. But for me, it has been one of the most enjoyable anime to watch. If you’re thinking of getting into this series, don’t start here. But don’t worry, you’ll love the whole journey. See you all next season!”
