The English release date for the Dragon Ball and One Piece crossover has been revealed

Dragon Ball Z and One Piece fans are in for a treat, as an upcoming dubbed anime crossover episode titled “Dream 9 Toriko & One Piece & Dragon Ball Z Super Collaboration Special” brings together beloved characters from the three series for an epic battle. The crossover was originally televised in Japan in 2013 as episode 590 of the One Piece anime, and Toei Animation has now announced that the English dub of the episode will be released on Toonami on March 4, 2023.

The story sees characters from Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, and the battle-cooking shonen series Toriko come together in a contest to win the “best-tasting meat ever discovered.” Some of the well-known characters that appear in the episode include Goku, Luffy, Zoro, Vegeta, and Piccolo. This is the first time the episode has been dubbed in English, and it’s sure to be a hit with fans who have been eagerly awaiting new Dragon Ball episodes.

While viewers may be disappointed that the episode doesn’t feature the more recent forms of Goku and Luffy, such as Ultra Instinct and 4th Gear, respectively, there is still much to enjoy in the interactions between the characters. The crossover originally aired before the creation of Dragon Ball Super, and when One Piece’s manga was barely through the Punk Hazard arc, but it still offers plenty of excitement and action.

The popularity of anime continues to grow worldwide, and fans are hungry for more crossover specials that bring together their favorite characters from different series. Although there are no plans yet for a new crossover featuring more recent series like Jujutsu Kaisen or My Hero Academia, fans can look forward to the epic crossover of Dragon Ball, One Piece, and Toriko.
