The Boruto manga will be taking a break

Shueisha’s V Jump magazine has announced that the Boruto manga, created by Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto, will take a hiatus starting from the magazine’s next issue and return in October, which is expected to be released around August 20. However, the English version of the latest chapter on Viz Media’s app states that the manga will return in September. The manga will feature a new arc upon its return.

The Boruto sequel manga was launched in May 2016 by storywriter Ukyō Kodachi and Mikio Ikemoto in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, before transferring to V Jump in July 2019. In November 2020, Kishimoto took over as the manga’s storywriter. The manga’s 19th volume was released in February 2021, and Viz Media is publishing it both digitally and in print.

The Boruto: Naruto Next Generations anime premiered in April 2017, with “Part I” ending on March 26, 2021, after 293 episodes. “Part II” of the anime has been approved. The anime has been licensed by Viz Media and is available for streaming on Hulu and Crunchyroll, and also aired on Adult Swim’s Toonami block. The anime has also been released on home video.

Masashi Kishimoto launched the original Naruto manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1999 and concluded it in November 2014. The Naruto series has since been adapted into numerous anime, anime films, OVAs, and games. The Naruto Shippuden anime ended in March 2017, and a live-action Hollywood adaptation is currently in the works at Lionsgate.
