Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 3 trailer teases intense action

The latest trailer for the highly anticipated third part of “Attack on Titan: The Final Season” has dropped, giving fans a glimpse of the intense battles that await in the anime’s finale. The trailer, which was officially posted by Pony Canyon, introduces many of the Colossal Titans that Eren and his team must face in the thrilling final battle for humanity’s future. During the live-streamed special in which the trailer first premiered, the anime’s staff also announced that SiM, the group that performed the opening themes for Part 2, would return to perform the series’ new theme song, “Under the Tree.”

“Attack on Titan: The Final Season – Part 3” picks up directly after Eren’s pivotal decision in Part 2, in which he released thousands of Colossal Titans within the walls of Paradis Island in a massive event called “The Rumbling.” The last trailer juxtaposes a younger, more innocent version of Eren against his current self, in which he embraces the notion of freedom by allowing the Titans to break down the walls that keep humanity, as he sees it, confined.

The “Attack on Titan” anime is based on Hajime Isayama’s original manga series, which ran in Bessatsu Shonen magazine from September 2009 to April 2021. Although Wit Studio produced Seasons 1-4 of the anime, MAPPA is now at the helm for “The Final Season,” with Yuichiro Hayashi (Kakegurui, Garo the Animation) as Director and Hiroshi Seko (Mob Psycho 100, Vinland Saga) in charge of Series Composition. The series’ Chief Animation Directors are Daisuke Niinuma (Case Closed) and Manabu Akita (Dororo 2019, The God of High School), with Tomohiro Kishi (My Little Monster) as the main Character Designer.

“Attack on Titan” is currently one of the best-selling manga series of all time, with over 110 million copies in circulation worldwide as of September 2022. The series has received numerous awards and honors over the years, including the Kodansha Manga Award in 2011, the Attilo Micheluzzi Award in 2014, and the Sugoi Japan Award for Best Manga Series in 2015, among others. In 2015, the series was adapted into a two-part live-action film by Shin Ultraman director Shinji Higuchi. It was also recently adapted into a stage musical by director Go Ueki with music direction from KEN THE 390. The musical ran from Jan. 7-9 at the Orix Theater in Osaka and then at the Seinenkan Hall in Tokyo from Jan. 14-24.

For those looking to catch up on the series, “Attack on Titan” is available to stream on Crunchyroll. The manga is also available in English from Kodansha US. “Attack on Titan: The Final Season – Part 3” is set to debut its first half on March 3 as a one-hour special, with the second half airing later in the year. Fans are eagerly anticipating the final showdown, and this latest trailer only adds to the excitement.
