“Haikyu!!” dub out tomorrow

Sentai Filmworks confirmed that its English dub for Haikyu!! will be released on October 6. The studio took to Twitter to share the good news with a picture of Hinata looking excited and a caption teasing the release of the cast list and dub clip. Fans of the series have been eagerly waiting to hear Hinata and Kageyama verbally spar in English. Sentai Filmworks acquired the dubbing rights for Haikyu!! earlier this year at Anime Expo and is also working on titles like Flip Flappers, Tanaka-kun Is Always Listless, Haven’t You Heard? I’m Sakamoto, and Squid Girl Season 2. The studio will also produce DVD/Blu-ray sets for seasons two and three of Haikyu!!

Haikyu!! is a popular manga and anime series created by Haruichi Furudate in February 2012. The manga was serialized by Weekly Shonen Jump and became a hit following its seasonal one-shot in Jump NEXT! Production I.G. secured rights to animate Haikyu!! and debuted its anime in April 2014. The series follows Karasuno High School’s lackluster volleyball team and its two leads, Shoyo Hinata and Tobio Kageyama. Hinata wants to be a great volleyball player but his short stature makes it difficult while Kageyama is a prodigal player but his poor sportsmanship makes him difficult to play with. The pair must work together to make their team the nation’s best.
