Where to watch “Haikyuu!!”? Hulu and Netflix availability

Haikyuu!!, a popular manga series by Haruichi Furudate, was first published in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 2012. Since then, it has garnered a dedicated fanbase and was adapted into an anime series by Production I.G. in 2014. The series has spawned multiple seasons, OVAs, and films, making it a must-watch for fans of the genre.

In North America, the anime was licensed for distribution by Sentai Filmworks and is officially titled Haikyu!! with one “u.” While some fans have debated the correct spelling, it’s recommended to use the official spelling to locate the show online. Initially, the anime was available on various streaming platforms, including Netflix, Hulu, and Funimation. However, it is no longer available on these platforms in the U.S.

Currently, the only place to watch the series in its entirety with Japanese audio and English subtitles is on Crunchyroll. If you prefer to watch English-language dubs, the options are limited. Sentai Filmworks has produced English dubs of the anime, but they are not always readily available for purchase. Hidive, a streaming service owned by Sentai, currently only has the third season of the anime in its catalog.

On the other hand, reading the manga is much more accessible. Viz Media has licensed and distributed the manga in English, and all 45 volumes are available to read digitally on its Shonen Jump app. The manga concluded in 2020 after 402 chapters, providing readers with a satisfying conclusion to the story.

Despite the limited options for watching the anime in English, Haikyuu!! remains a beloved series among fans of the genre. The popularity of the series has even led to the creation of a spin-off manga series, Haikyuu-bu!!, and a stage play adaptation.
