Pokemon GO player who was the first to reach level 50 has received death threats

A popular Pokemon Go streamer known as FleeceKing, who was the first player to reach level 50 in the mobile game, has recently shared on social media that they have been receiving death threats from members of the Pokemon Go community. The threats were sent to them via comments and direct messages on their social media accounts.

The source of the negativity seems to stem from the recent changes made to Pokemon Go’s Remote Raid Pass feature, which allows players to participate in raids from the comfort of their own homes. Niantic, the game’s developer, has made significant changes to the feature, causing an uproar among players who feel that the changes limit their ability to play the game as they choose. This led to a boycott of the game, a petition with over 100,000 signatures, and an outcry from players across the internet.

Unfortunately, this negativity has also spilled over into the treatment of content creators who still enjoy the game. FleeceKing has been on the receiving end of hateful and violent messages, including encouraging them to commit suicide, mocking their life, and saying they don’t have a real job. FleeceKing believes that the hate is due to their purchase of a ticket to the in-person Pokemon Go Fest 2023 event, which is set to take place later this year.
